Only Similac Contract formula Issued in Missouri starting January 2021

Dear Valued WIC Participant:

Congratulations on your decision to take part in the Missouri WIC program to support your baby’s healthy development! We want to let you know about a change in the Missouri WIC program related to the name brand of infant formula that will be issued to infants beginning January 1, 2021. Due to a state
contract change, the WIC program will switch from Enfamil formulas to Similac formulas.

The following products will not be issued after December 31, 2020:

• Enfamil Infant
• Enfamil Gentlease
• Enfamil Reguline
• Enfamil AR
• Enfamil Prosobee (soy-based)

The GREAT news is that the Missouri WIC program will offer Similac formulas for the same dietary needs, so your baby should experience a smooth transition! The new formulas offered by Missouri WIC will include:

• Similac Advance with Iron
• Similac Total Comfort
• Similac Sensitive
• Similac for Spit-Up
• Similac Isomil (soy-based)

Your WIC nutritionist will ensure that your baby is issued the appropriate formula. Most infants will transition easily from Enfamil to Similac products. However, if you have any concerns, your WIC nutritionist will work closely with you to find a solution! Please note, some infants are prescribed special formulas to address a qualifying medical condition. Missouri WIC will continue to provide these special formulas with a medical documentation form.
