Please be aware there is a phishing scam targeting people receiving P-EBT (Pandemic-EBT). A text message is being sent to their phone saying their P-EBT account is blocked and that they need to login with their card number and PIN. This is a scam!
The Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) is not sending text messages for any of their programs at this time.
What should you do if you have provided your EBT card information and/or PIN?
For anyone who has given out their EBT card information including their PIN, DSS is recommending they cancel their card immediately and request a replacement card by calling 1-888-328-2666. They should also ignore/block the sender on their phone or device.
DSS has posted on Twitter and Facebook. A screenshot of the Twitter post is below.
