WIC is here to support you. If you need information about COVID-19, please refer to the DPH Coronavirus webpage. WIC offices are now able to provide all types of WIC appointments to families by phone or online. You can find information about upcoming WIC appointments using the My Appointment button with this app. Local programs will also send text and phone reminders about your appointment. You can find your local WIC office phone number in the “Find a WIC Office” button with this app or call 617-721-6601 or 1-800-WIC-1007 for assistance. Some local programs are working remotely but are checking messages and will get back to you.
For problems with your WIC Card, call your local program or 617-417-3829 during regular business hours.
Temporary Food List Changes in Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)
We know that some WIC foods have been difficult to find at times and shopping for WIC foods can be challenging. To help ease the shopping experience we are pleased to announce WIC Cards can now be used at the Self-Checkout lanes at Price Rite, Shaw’s (except for the Shaw’s at 130 River Street in Waltham), Star Market and Walmart Supercenter stores. In addition, the WIC Card is now accepted at select “Hannaford to Go” locations in MA. This service is provided by Hannaford Supermarkets and now allows WIC participants to shop online and pick up and pay with their WIC card curbside at these five Hannaford locations: Dracut, Leominster (2 stores), Lunenburg and Taunton.

Please use the “WIC Stores” icon on the WICShopper App for a complete listing of all authorized WIC retailers. In addition, WIC has increased the allowable options for eggs, yogurt and cereal and has temporarily expanded our food list to add additional options for whole grain bread (see below). Check the expanded food list to see what has been added.
Also, please be aware that if the store brand of fluid milk in the dairy case is not available, you are able to purchase the equivalent name-brand product with your WIC benefits. Organic and specialty milks, however, are not authorized.
MASSACHUSETTS WIC NUTRITION PROGRAM
APPROVED FOOD CHANGES
due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)
The COVID-19 pandemic has put a strain on the grocery industry causing a limited availability of WIC products on the shelf. To reduce the impact of limited availability, MA WIC is temporarily expanding allowable products in the following categories:
WHOLE WHEAT/WHOLE GRAIN BREAD
Allowable sizes now include 20 oz. loaves.
Brands include: Pepperidge Farm Soft 100% Whole Wheat, Wonder 100% Whole Wheat,
Nature’s Own Whole Wheat, Sara Lee Classic Whole Wheat, Sara Lee Soft & Smooth Whole Wheat.
(Can be purchased with benefits for “16 oz. Bread/Whole Grains”).
Make sure to scan the item on the WIC Shopper app to make sure it’s approved!
If you or any family member is experiencing a fever, cough, shortness of breath or other flu like symptoms – call your health care provider or local board of health.
