Information Regarding the Jif® Peanut Butter Recall

J.M. Smucker Company voluntarily recalled certain Jif brand peanut butter products.

If you have Jif brand peanut butter, check to see if it is included in the recall:
  • Check the lot code near the “Best If Used By” date.
  • Affected products have lot numbers have both of the following:
    1. The first four digits are between 1274 and 2140, and
    2. The next three numbers are 425

If you have a recalled Jif® peanut butter:
  • Do NOT use the product.
  • The FDA recommends washing and sanitizing surfaces and utensils that could have touched the peanut butter.
  • If you or someone in your household ate this peanut butter and have symptoms of salmonellosis, please contact your healthcare provider.
  • Fill out Jif’s Recall Claim form for replacement product coupons. (If you have more than one product to claim, complete the form for each product.)
  • If you are a WIC participant and unable to fill out Jif’s Recall Claim form, you may try exchanging your recalled product at the store you purchased it from. Stores may, but are not required to, exchange the product for another WIC-authorized peanut butter that is of equal to or of lesser value than the recalled product.
