WIC Card Tips
Get a New Card
In the store you should be able to swipe your WIC card at the check-out lane. If the store systems are having trouble reading your card when it’s swiped, then it might be time for a new one.
The two easiest ways to get a replacement card are:
- Login to ebtEDGE.com (or the ebtEDGE app), go to ‘Account Services’ and select the ‘Replace Card’ option.
- Call the Customer Service phone number on the back of your card.
A new card will be mailed to you and you will receive it 5-7 days after the request.
Important: If it is the end of the month (~last 10 days) or you urgently need a replacement card, contact your local WIC clinic.
Change Your PIN
If you forget your PIN or need to change it for security reasons, you can easily change it by calling the Customer Service phone number on the back of your card or by logging onto ebtEDGE.com.
You will need to provide your date of birth and mailing zip code to confirm your identity first.
Freeze Card
If you think you may have lost your card you have the option to place a freeze on it within the ebtEDGE website or ebtEDGE mobile app. The freeze will prevent any transactions from being approved with the card. The freeze will remain in place until you remove it, which can be done at any time.
Other Tips
- If someone gets your card and knows your PIN, they can use your food benefits without your permission. Those benefits will not be replaced.
- Do not share your PIN.
- If your card is lost or stolen, call the Customer Service line on the back of your card immediately to request a replacement.
- If you want someone you trust to shop for you, ask your WIC clinic how to get a second cardholder added to your account.
