How to Use Your WIC Farmers’ Market Coupons

What can I purchase with the coupons?

Fresh fruits, vegetables, and/or cut herbs grown in Ohio or a bordering state.

How to use your coupons:

Locate an authorized farmer or market using the list on the Ohio WICShopper App, or at www.odh.ohio.gov.

Shop early for the best selection.

Take a tote bag to carry home your fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

When you get to the market, look for farmers displaying the “FMNP Coupons Accepted Here!” signs.

Start shopping!

When you use a FMNP coupon, come as close to $5.00 as possible. No change, IOU’s, or rain checks are allowed.

Remember, your coupons are like money and they will not be replaced if lost or stolen.

Do not try to use FMNP coupons at your regular grocery store. They cannot accept them.
FMNP coupons cannot be used to purchase:

  • Baked goods.
  • Apple cider.
  • Jams.
  • Honey.
  • Maple syrup.
  • Tropical and citrus fruit such as:
    • Bananas, mangoes, or pineapples.
    • Grapefruit, lemons, limes, oranges, or tangerines.

Only fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs may be purchased with WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program

Note that citrus fruits (i.e., lemons, oranges, limes, grapefruit, tangerines) and tropical fruits (i.e., bananas, pineapples, mangos) cannot be purchased with Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program coupons. These fruits are not grown in this region. Also, herbs must be cut, and no potted plants can be purchased with WIC coupons.
