Stove top mac and cheese in a casserole dish

Stove Top Mac & Cheese

This easy, made-from-scratch mac and cheese works as a side or main dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups dried whole grain elbow pasta cooked according to package directions
  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • 1 ½ cup reduced fat sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper

Method
 

  1. Combine milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cheese in a medium pot.
  2. Cook on medium, stirring frequently, until cheese is melted. Remove from the stove.
  3. Stir in yogurt until combined.
  4. Add in warm pasta and serve.
